Quality Engineer


1. Actively participates in Value Stream Team activities and meetings in assigned areas.
2. Leads successful development and implementation of product quality plans including but not limited to PFMEAs, Production Control Plans, Quality Standards, Operator Work Instructions, and process quality data collection systems including but not limited to statistical process control (SPC), I-Own, FPY and RTPY metrics.
3. Performs process and product data analysis including but not limited to design of experiments (DOE), Gage R&R s, and capability studies leading to measurable process and product improvements.
4. Under the direction of the Quality Manager, leads quality improvement initiatives to standardize processes, identify and control special and critical characteristics, and reduce process and product variation.
5. Investigates, ensures appropriate containment and corrective actions are taken, and communicates status to all affected areas for field product reports and concerns.
6. Actively participates as team member on PDP projects as assigned.
7. Actively participates as team member on CI, DFM, and other project teams as assigned.
8. Actively leads and participates on CAR/8D teams as assigned.
9. Actively participates in internal audit activities as assigned.
10. Generates and issues quality-related reports as assigned.
11. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
12. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
13. Reviews and qualifies new purchased products to PAPSO requirements as assigned.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Quality Engineer

1. Bachelor s Degree in related field or equivalent combined education and experience.
2. A minimum of five years related work experience.
3. Preferred ASQ certification as CQE and/or SSBB.
4. Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software.
5. Proficiency with statistical software (Minitab, JMP, or SAS, etc.).
6. Demonstrated planning, organizing, inter-personal, and verbal and written communication skills with proven leadership and decision making abilities.
7. Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures, production methods (including machining and welding), shop standards, team building, SPC and modern quality assurance applications.

Work hrs:  7am-3: 30pm M-F

Salary is $65-80k plus excellent benefits
